After the outrage that followed the government’s decision to ban things such as face-sitting, caning, female ejaculation and fisting, the British porn industry, its stars and consumers are descending upon Prime Minister David Cameron and his sweaty cronies in parliament to try and make them see some sense.

Although the protest will more than likely not cause a repeal of the ruling, it’s a chance for the industry and others to express their anger and frustration toward what has proved to be an insane and unnecessary set of rules.

The event has been organized by Charlotte Rose, a sex worker and sex therapist, who is outraged at what she sees as the authorities encroaching on an area they both know nothing about and aren’t welcome in.

#PornProtest will see those in attendance trying and break the Guinness World Record (if the record analysts weren’t such prudes and actually allowed the event to be part of their book) for people performing face-sitting at the same time as well as a Sex Factor-style gameshow to keep the crowds entertained on what is sure to be a long, long day.

But don’t let the fun and games distract you from the real issues: the rescinding of the right to sexual expression, to earn a living from porn or other sex work and the ability to simply explore your own sexuality.

The British government’s ruling on UK porn would read like bad comedy if it wasn’t actually true.

Charlotte spoke to BaDoink about tomorrow’s protests.

“The British government’s recent ruling on UK porn effects our personal liberties and no-one has the right to take my consent away with my consent!”

Some see the rulings as an attack on a woman’s right to sexually express herself within a particular arena, but Charlotte believes it’s a warning to both genders.

“It’s not just women it’s anyone that enjoys performing or receiving the banned activities. What frustrates me most of all is that female ejaculation is seen as a dangerous act yet it’s perfectly acceptable for the esophagus to be damaged from penis ramming!”

Charlotte said support from outside the industry has been overwhelming too, with actor Rupert Everett and former British politician Lembit Opik offering assistance.

Things may not change overnight, but it’s a fight worth stepping up for.
