General Tips:

What Not to prepare:

No splatter food: This should be self explanatory. You want to be able to eat in peace and not have to worry if you’re getting food on your clothes. Steer clear from stringy foods like pasta, soups and noodles.

No gluten: Or at least make very little of it. You never know if your date (or maybe even you) may be gluten intolerant (she might not know either). Your don’t want be hit with gas or bloating during your date. Gluten foods include anything with wheat, barley, oats, rye, spelt and kamut.

No hard to eat food: You don’t want to be struggling with your food. You want to be focusing on your date. Steer clear from burgers, crabs, unpeeled prawns and even big chunky salads. No trying to stuff a big fork full of salad into your mouth.

Anything too filling: Seriously, you don’t want to eat anything so filling that you can’t do anything after, if you get what we mean. Not that you should be expecting anything, but even if you end up drinking some wine and chatting the night away, it’s no fun doing so with a belly so full you can’t get comfortable.

What To Prepare:

Easy to cut and eat foods: Fish, steak (nothing chewy please), chicken, oysters (opened), mussels.

Now get your shopping basket ready, because these babies are worth the trip:

Deviled Crab Boules with Beurre Blanc

Mushroom Cream Chicken

Pomegranate Duck

Veal Medallions with Apple Thyme Sauce

Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Apples

Alright, off you go! Don’t forget some wine and pick up some desert as well while you at it. You can thank us later! Good luck!
