Movies We’re Looking Forward to Watching

Ah, the sweet, sweet smell of fall and the consequent fall movie releases! After blockbuster after blockbuster of summer time, I’m really looking forward to fall movies. Don’t you think that fall movies have a more contemplative quality to them? Or maybe I’m just making this all up. Who knows? More importantly, who cares? Because, Keanu Reeves is back in action people! Let’s check out more movies that we here at BaDoink are looking forward to watching, and don’t miss our reviews when we do!

John Wick

Release: October 24, 2014

It’s been a while since I last had my Keanu fix, since 47 Ronin (which was less than desirable) so this is sweet, sweet music to my ears! John Wick is the story of a former hit-man that comes out of retirement when his dog – the last reminder of his deceased wife – is killed by a group of thugs. Turns out, those thugs happen to have connections with his ex boss. So out comes badass Keanu to show em who’s boss. I mean, the trailer shows a lot of kill em, shoot em up type shots but judging from Rotten Tomatoes, which gives John Wick an 86% rating, it’s something I’m really looking forward to watching.

Interstellar

Release: November 7, 2014

I’m a down with anything sci-fi, so a story about Matthew McConaughey having to find another habitable planet for the people of Earth because we done fucked things up good here, is definitely on my to-watch list. A team of space travellers have to go through a newly discovered wormhole in order to save humanity, taking them literally where no man has gone before. The trailer seems a lot more contemplative than the usual blow em up blockbuster fair sci-fis inspire, but that’s probably because of Christopher Nolan who is in the director’s seat of this movie.

Before I go to Sleep

Release: October 31, 2014

Imagine waking up everyday and not remembering anything. Sounds familiar? Yeah, something like the plot of 50 First Dates, but this isn’t a romantic comedy, this is a thriller based on the worldwide best-selling novel by S.J. Watson. Nicole Kidman plays Christine Lucas who was in a traumatic accident in her past, which means she wakes up everyday with no memory. Sounds intriguing enough to put it on my to-watch list!

The Theory of Everything

Release: November 7, 2014

And finally, I cannot tell you how excited I am to watch this movie based on the book Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, written by Jane Hawking, daughter of famed scientist, Stephen Hawking. This movie tells the story of Mr. Hawking and his former wife Jane Wilde, his life in Cambridge, his earth-shattering diagnosis and then going on to break new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than he could ever have dreamed.
