An Islamic fringe group teaching women the joys of submitting to their husbands and acting like first-class prostitutes in the bedroom has reached Europe, with its first branch operating out of a Greenwich restaurant.

The Global Ikhwan group, which has launched the Obedient Wives Club (OWC) in Malaysia, want to establish polygamy as the world standard because it will lead to “a harmonious society.”

Ideal Muslim wife?
So is this ideal muslim wife now?

One of the first orders of business was to host a debate about polygamy in London. Members of the group say they want to show Muslims in Britain that the practise can work. But director of Muslim women’s charity Inspire, Sara Khan, is not thrilled at the idea.

“Polygamy is illegal under British law and such a (Obedient Wives) club would reduce a woman to a mere prop in a man’s life. Not only does it demean women, it is demeaning to men too and the institution of marriage,” Khan said.

The club published a 115-page sex manual in 2011 with the ominous title: “Islamic Sex, Fighting Against Jews to Return Islamic Sex to the World,” where Muslim wives are told to “submit” to their husbands’ every desire in the bedroom and act “better than a first-class prostitute.”

The subtitle suggesting violence towards Jews is never really explained in the booklet. In fact, there’s only a brief mentioning of Jews propagating “extremely pornographic” illicit sex.

OWC vice president Rohaya Mohamad offered a somewhat subjugated explanation for the teachings in the sex guide: “A good or religious wife should also be good in bed.”

“A man married to a woman who is good or better than a prostitute in bed has no reason to stray. Rather than allowing him to sin, a woman must do all she can to ensure his desires are met,” Mohamad said.

However, the explicit information on sexual acts and instructions for how newlyweds and wives should treat their husbands is available to members only. The Islamic Sex author, 57-year-old Hatijah Aam, said non-members would not be able to comprehend it.

She said the publication aims at promoting the highest levels of spiritual connection between a man and his wives, and added that OWC’s goal is to ultimately set an ISO standard for sex within a marriage.

There are growing concerns with Islamization in Britain all ready, and an Obedient Wives Cub chapter operating in London is bound to cause its fair share of controversy.
