Revenge Porn Kingpin Jailed For 18 Years

The man responsible for one of the largest online revenge porn networks faces nearly two decades in prison after being sentenced this Friday.

Kevin Bollaert, 28, was found guilty of extortion and identity theft after posting over 10,000 sexually explicit images of women without their permission. Those present at Friday’s hearing were told of the victims’ humiliation and shame at the hands of Bollaert and his website which toyed with and blackmailed a number of those whose pictures were made available. Jilted ex-partners would send over pictures and videos to ugotposted.com, which would upload at speed and without prejudice. The women who gave evidence against Bollaert spoke of lives and careers in ruins.

San Diego-born Bollaert would demand hundreds of dollars in payment to remove images. Bollaert’s system found desperate women being redirected to another website that would request money for removal. The mocking ChangeMyReputation.com was further proof – if any were needed – that Bollaert’s sociopathic conduct was out of control.

Bollaert’s conviction and sentencing is another positive mark for California’s legal system, which has also seen Noe Iniguez convicted for a similar offence. Bollaert must also pay $10,000 in restitution for his crimes.

Despite Bollaert’s defense team painting him as a remorseful individual, the prosecution provided a number of witnesses who were victims of Bollaert’s website. He is reported to have burst into tears during proceedings. The Judge remained unmoved, declaring that Bollaert was due “a large dose of punishment”. That includes a long stretch of ten years before consideration for parole.
