Alright! Am back. Today we’ve got a Dothraki beast to review. This baby is not merely a sex toy; it is an almighty thruster. We’ve had promises of thrusters in the past… awkward devices that kinda jiggled rather than thrusted. So I am eager to let you know how the Stronic Drei fares in its claims.
What it is
The Stronic Drei is part of the Stronic range from Fun Factory. The thing is, this baby isn’t a vibrator; in fact it doesn’t vibrate at all. The Stronic Drei is a thruster, imitating the thrusting movement a person might make. If you’re thinking, “Well, that’s a bit difficult to imitate,” you’re right, it is difficult. Which is why not many toys have done it well.
The Drei (get it? get it?), comes packed in a neat little box. Packaging wise it’s not as elegant as some products… But it’s hard to get elegant when you’re packing a beast, so I get it. Inside, the Stronic Drei sits by itself, it’s charging cord tucked at the bottom. It comes with an instructional booklet that I wish they spent a little bit of time writing out actual instructions in, instead of just pictures.
The charger attaches to the toy using an awesome magnetic technology type thing (official name for it, true story). You’d think that it would detach easily, but it doesn’t and my inner geek came out for a bit to marvel at it.
How to use
For first time use, charge it overnight. You’ll know it’s charged when the lights on the buttons on the handle stop blinking. Getting used to the buttons are a little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it it’s fine. There are three buttons, “Fun”, “+” and “-”. The device comes pre-locked and to unlock it you have to press both “Fun” and “+” for a few seconds. This is actually great because if it’s in your bag you don’t want to start it accidently. To lock it again, press “Fun” and “-” together.
Now the “+” and “-” buttons increase and decrease the intensity, but not in the usual way. Pressing the “-” button decreases the speed but also changes the rhythm. Pressing “+” increases the speed and also changes the rhythm. It’s a little confusing, but in the end, you just play around with it and stop at the speed/rhythm that you like.
In order to use it, make sure you’re either properly warmed up or don’t be afraid to lube it up. It looks like a scary beast, but once it’s lubed up it slides right in. Press the “Fun” button to start it up, and then play around with the “+” or “-” to find what you like. To stop, press the “Fun” button again.
The Experience
To be honest, at first I didn’t know what to make of it. The thrusting was jerky so I played around trying to find one that was smoother and more ‘human’ like. Well, this is the Drei and not Drake so obviously all the thrusting was kinda jerky, but once you get over the fact that it’s not going to be the same as the real thing, you kinda get into it. If you snuggle it inside you, you can release your hands and it does a good staying in (mostly) and thrusting. You just need to adjust it every once in a while so it stays in.
Like I said the thrusting felt jerky, but it wasn’t bad. The curvature of the Drei meant that angled properly it can hit bits and pieces of the G-spot and couple the Drei with a vibrator I got me a pretty solid, all round toy. The orgasms were more intense that just clitoral stimulation from a vibrator.
This isn’t a quickie device though. I mean, it’s definitely for those “I’ve got me all night and I just had a bath,” kinda nights where you can get your filthy self out for a bout of self loving.
Cleaning
Just run under some running water. However, be sure you get under the ridges because once it dries I notice that some lube always remains. It also attracts a lot of dust, so I wish it came with a little bag I could keep it in.
Conclusion
I wouldn’t bring this with on my travels, it’s too large and definitely requires more play time to get into. However, this is in my box of toys, alright – for the days that my man isn’t around this will come in handy. I’m not sure how much I’ll use it while playing with a man, but definitely this is a toy that can be brought out when playing with a woman. All in all, the Stronic Drei is a solid play toy, and it’s going in my box of favorites.
