MTV is Casting ‘True Life’ Episode About Porn Star’s Kids

Understandably, not everyone likes to think about their favorite adult performer having children — which is interesting, considering how many people are actually searching for MILFs every single day on the internet.

I remember the first time I actually wondered how it would be like to be the son of a porn star. As an outspoken 12-year-old growing up in an aggressive environment, even the remote notion seemed like a surefire recipe for getting into fights daily. The idea of having a mom other kids find hot would already be a little uncomfortable, but having public proof of her sexual exploits at that age might have been way harder to handle. Mainly because you just know all your friends are masturbating to your mom’s videos. Even if they’re careful and sensitive enough not to mention it to you (and let’s face it, they likely won’t,) it’s almost impossible not to be aware they will probably meet specifically to discuss at length your mother’s double penetration scenes.

So how would that affect your life in the bigger picture? Your relationship with porn — and sex in general — must certainly be different than other kids’. MTV wonders about this too, and they’re currently casting for candidates who grew up with a parent in the adult industry. The person would star in an episode of their long-running True Life series.

“Sex is big business. But is it your family business? Do you have a parent who works in porn? Do they perform or produce adult films? Or do you have a parent who makes a living designing, manufacturing or selling sexy toys or other adult products and related goods and services?” casting director Doron Ofir and MTV asked in a public statement.

“We are interested in hearing how your life is shaped by the career choice of your parent,” they continued. “Perhaps you accept and support what they do to pay the bills … or maybe it’s made your life harder and you wish your parents had a more conventional line of work. Will you follow in their footsteps? Either way, we want to help you tell your story! Children of adults working in porn must be between the ages of 16 and 27.”

It definitely has to affect your life in a meaningful way, either positively or negatively; likely both sometimes. Being a parent and a porn star can lead to some difficult moments. Retired adult performer and current mother in a monogamous relationship Aurora Snow, recently wrote a nice piece about it on The Daily Beast. She discussed important parts of a child’s upbringing and dealing with the judgment that usually follows sex workers, even those who aren’t in the business anymore. Having a toddler with questions though is very different from having grown kids who need to balance their own idea of sex with what their parent does for a living.

“Because my kids are older now we can have certain conversations — like if I’m up for an award they know about it — but when they were younger we sheltered them from all of the details,” Alana Evans, adult performer and recent AVN Hall of Fame inductee told Snow in her article.

“We are working in the industry for our kids, so they get a parent who is home and with them more often,” said Evans, who has a 22-year-old son, 19-year-old stepdaughter, and a stepson who’s almost 17. “I’ve been a better influence to my kids than the people who raised me.”

It’s certainly a promising subject for a documentary series. For more information, or if you actually have a parent in the adult industry and would like the chance to take part in a True Life episode, contact Doron Ofir Casting’s Kaitlyn Ward at kaitlyncasting@gmail.com.
