When I’m on the Internet, porn and comedy are probably the two things that I spend the most time on. I assume this happens to a lot of single male comedians, people who write about porn, and pretty much anyone who can relate to some of the best ways to escape our real lives. Sadly, these two rarely meet in one video – and when they do it’s usually not great. I, however, get excited at anything that hints at a mash-up of my biggest distractions.
Lee Roy Myers, known for his porn parodies, wrote and co-directed Comedians in Cars Getting SEX, a spoof on Jerry Seinfeld’s web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
The famous comic’s web series, where he picks up another comedian and they drive around in unique cars on their way to get coffee, is now in its third season and has become quite successful. Sometimes there’s no better proof that a show made it than having its own porn parody.
I kind of figured they would change the character names, or modify them slightly using puns, but I was surprised to find they went for a specific example and chose Jerry Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman. In this parody, James Deen plays the lead role, and although he does have the Jewish cred to fall back on, his Seinfeld impression leaves a lot to be desired. Veruca James plays Silverman, who constantly shocks Porn-Jerry with her dirty talk.
I guess if they were going to make a porn parody with real comedian names, using Sarah’s sounds a lot better than going for a Larry David look-alike. Although, I think, a gay scene with Deen and Ron Jeremy playing Jay Leno would frankly be too hilarious to not think about.
There are several Seinfeld references. They also joke about Jerry’s preference for clean jokes, and take a jab at Jimmy Fallon – who coincidentally does a fairly better Seinfeld impersonation than Deen’s.
The premise is mostly the same, though: Jerry picks up the comedian in one of his cars (although the real Seinfeld would have surely brought a nicer and more extravagant vehicle than the pick-up truck his porn version has.) They drive around and shoot the shit; then they go for coffee and continue their pleasant conversation about the intricacies of stand up comedy… nah, they go have sex in the backseat.
Having a big truck paid off in the end, though, as they clearly needed a space that Seinfeld collection cars couldn’t provide.
Basically, there are no beverages to be had in this version, but if I may say so as a coffee drinker, some of those beautiful coffee shots they show in the original series are borderline pornographic to me.
