playhouse-mistake-porn-DVDS

Man, it’s a good time to be a 10 year old boy.

When I was that age, if I wanted to find a porn tape, I wouldn’t know where to go. Nowadays, summer school theaters might actually deliver it on DVD to your own home. At least that seems to be the case in Edinburgh, Scotland, as the city’s Playhouse Theater accidentally sent hundreds of porn DVDs to children and their parents.

And to think some people say the UK is uptight about porn…

The DVDs were supposed to contain the recordings of the theater’s summer school, held earlier this year. The kids had been waiting for these to arrive for months and when they got them, well… they featured significantly different entertainment. The mistake was made by the production company, Edithouse, and was not discovered till after the parental complaints started and a theater staff member picked up a copy and played it.

The manufacturer apologized in a statement: “Edithouse takes full responsibility for the mistakes made in the duplication process of DVDs for the Edinburgh Playhouse, which resulted in highly inappropriate and inaccurate material being sent out to a small number of Edinburgh Playhouse customers.”

Several parents have expressed their shock and indignation, including one that called the content “absolutely disgusting filth.” Rightfully so, he complained about it being incredibly inappropriate, adding that they “haven’t watched right through it, but it’s not just amateur porn — this is the proper thing. It’s absolutely unbelievable.”

So there you have it, folks, although Playhouse might send porn to your children, you can rest assured there will be some production value to their filth. This ain’t no amateur hour! Go to a tube site if you want that, but if you want the real thing, Playhouse’s got your back.

You might think the parents were the only ones outraged, but think of the people patiently waiting for their porn at home and mistakenly getting a DVD full of kids’ theater. You can’t get more anticlimactic than that!

Of course, not all parents have spoken publicly about it; we presume they might be busy checking out some movies they received in the mail this week.

Scottish police stated that since the distribution of pornography to children was not deliberate and it was all just a production error, no charges would be pressed against anybody. That’s good news for Playhouse, who should probably try to enjoy that silver lining, considering any time you Google them from now on, “Edinburgh Playhouse Sends Porn DVDs to Children” will be one of the main results on every search. On the other hand, if you’re a parent and would like your sedentary and lazy pre-teen boy to get off his ass and go to theater summer school, this might actually turn out to be a good incentive.
