One thing is for certain: 2016 is the year of virtual reality. And while the gaming and film industries are still getting up to speed – the here and now is virtual reality porn.

In a Daily Dot article, Mike Wehner dives deep into the world of VR porn through the eyes of the Oculus Rift. One key element that he points out is the barrier of entry. After dropping mad dime on the goggles, you also need a high-end PC – and will be confined to a bunch of cords, plus a time commitment – those videos aren’t going to download themselves.

Once the porn is up and running – it’s actually what you would expect – maybe (probably) a whole lot more. But this insight gives us an idea about who will win the VR headset competition. Mobile devices like Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard are a lot easier to get started with. And if your ultimate goal is to get off – then the mandatory foreplay required to use Oculus Rift may be a little too much for the average consumer.
