Hey, hey, hey folks, it’s that time of the week again! Time to check out the latest web weirdness with a rundown of my best vids of the last seven days. Enjoy!
Captain Jean-Luc Picard singing “Let It Snow.” Someone obviously had a lot of time on their hands to make this gem. I’m glad they did because it’s very well done. My favorite part comes midway through. I don’t want to give it away but it includes Wesley Crusher.
Guster is, as the saying goes, for lovers. If you don’t know this band then I feel sorry for you. They’ve been my favorite since a good friend told me about them when I was in High School. “Either Way” is one of my favorite songs and this is a beautiful acoustic version of it. They’ve recently just come out with a new live album of some of their best songs performed with a symphony and it’s amazing.
This nifty short film is by some friends of mine. It asks the question “What would we do if karma was a physical thing that can be bought and sold?” Seems like us humans would pervert it and continue to make bad decisions. Great performances all around, I’d say.
I always find it funny that it’s mostly the menfolk who have gripes about women’s bodies and how they need to be handled. I’m a man and last time I checked I didn’t have a vagina or the ability to give birth to a child. It’s amazing that men seems to think they know better than woman. Watch this congresswoman from California go after a congressman from New Jersey after his oh so expert speech denouncing abortions. I think we need to start listening to the women who this abortions affect directly.
Arab/israeli love story told through the medium of slam poetry. I love the imagery Usman uses to describe his love with a Jewish woman. “Our Bodies intertwined like messages in Torah and Quran.
Beneath the starry splatter paint masterpiece of God…”He performs his poetry really well with a sense of longing. Take a listen.
I don’t know about you but I still get all weird when I have to go buy condoms. I try to be as stealth as I can be. Just get in and get out without too much fuss. I love that this ad just makes fun of the whole process of buying condoms. It shouldn’t be something to do in secret. It’s stating that you take your sexual health seriously. The last line if this ad made me chuckle out loud.
Sometimes I find Leslie Jordan too much but not in this instance. He’s the right amount of funny here. Going to a commercial casting with a bunch of hunky men and nabbing the part. It gets a little ridiculous at the end but it’s still fun.
So I’ve been following Tom Daley on Facebook ever since the Olympics two summers ago. Not going to lie, I have a little bit of a crush on him. He just seems so sweet and he’s very good looking. He sent out a message on his Facebook wall that he had something he needed to say and to watch this video. Now I’m not surprised that he’s exploring his sexuality. I’m proud that he is and I’m I love that he chose to announce it in a very calm and mature way. Allegedly he’s dating a high profile gay man but that’s neither here nor that. Good on him for doing it his way. We’re all cheering for you Tom! Go Gold in Rio!
I was never really into drag queens until I started watching RuPaul’s Drag Race. There is so much artistry and talent that goes into what they do. The drama is just icing on the cake. Here is a teaser trailer for the upcoming season six premiere. Can’t wait until February to see these bitches werk! I can’t believe I just wrote that. Pass me the alcohol…all of it. It’s gonna be a long week. Happy Happy!
